In early August 2026, the European Broadcasting Union released the timetable for the national finals determining entries for the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, scheduled for 14 November in Bangkok, Thailand. The schedule confirmed dates for Bhutan (11 August), Malaysia (15 August), the Philippines (30 August), South Korea (4 September), Nepal (19 September), Laos (23–24 September), Thailand (27 September), and Bangladesh (30 September), with Cambodia planning an early-September show and Vietnam yet to set a date. Bhutan’s broadcaster, BBS, has released the five competing songs for its ‘Rhythm of Bhutan’ national final: ‘Pemi Tshewang Tashi (The Legend)’ by Sangay Lhaden Band, ‘Drenpa (The Memories)’ by Baeyul 301, ‘Pha Yuel (The Homeland)’ by Karma Drupchu, ‘Lhayi Semo (The Angel)’ by Thukten Nyendra, and ‘Jo’druel (The Journey)’ by Pelden Wangchuk. BBS also issued the official theme song, ‘Drukdra, Rhythm of Bhutan’. In the Philippines, ABS-CBN announced the ten competing entries for the Philippine Selection Night 2026, including acts such as DNA, SAGA, Elha Nympha with ensemble members, Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag, Ryssi Avila, JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, AJAA, KHIMO, VVINK and WRIVE Russu, and Carmelle. Song entries are scheduled for release on 17 August. Malaysia’s broadcaster TV3 has selected Aina Abdul through the national final ‘AJL: Anugerah Juara Lagu’, where she performed the song ‘Kamu’. The selection was officially announced during the 40th edition of the ceremony at the Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil. While Abdul is confirmed to represent Malaysia, her specific song for the Bangkok contest has not yet been revealed. The contest will follow standard Eurovision rules, including a three-minute song limit, a maximum of six performers, and a 50/50 split between televoting and jury voting. Mongolia has announced its national final will be held on 10 October via MNC. In Bangladesh, the submission window has closed, with the representative to be chosen via ‘Voice of Bangladesh’ on 30 September through a 50/50 split of jury and public voting.
