Events at Velia Archaeological Park

Overview

The Velia Archaeological Park in Ascea is hosting a series of cultural and historical events in October 2026.

On October 16, the park will host the ‘Festa della Melagrana’, an event centered on the pomegranate, which is symbolic of Mediterranean biodiversity and the ancient Greek colony of Elea. The program features a botanical meeting, a school-oriented experiential walk titled ‘L’amore delle tre melagrane’, and a tasting session.

On October 24, the park will host ‘Il Vino e la Magna Grecia’ in collaboration with the FISAR Salerno Delegation. This event, part of the 54th National FISAR Congress, includes a guided tour of the archaeological site and discussions at the Velia Theater. Experts will address topics such as enotourism, cultural landscapes, and the wines of Magna Graecia, concluding with a wine tasting to promote the heritage of the Cilento region.
