Evri robotic delivery technology trials
Overview
Evri has initiated several trials in the United Kingdom to test advanced robotics for last-mile delivery efficiency.
In mid-September, the company launched a one-week trial in Bristol featuring a robotic neighbourhood parcel hub. Developed with Collective Robotics, this automated facility uses AI to identify, sort, and store parcels, allowing couriers to unload multiple items in a single stop to save time and fuel.
By late September, Evri expanded its testing to include Europe’s first trial of a two-legged autonomous delivery robot, named Iris, in Barnsley. Partnering with Japan-based Refined Robotics, this 4ft tall machine is designed to navigate complex outdoor environments, including stairs and uneven surfaces, to support human couriers and improve delivery flexibility.
