Similarly, Planet Fitness locations provide red light therapy booths marketed as “Total Body Enhancement.” These services use red and near-infrared wavelengths to penetrate skin and tissue, aiming to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, boost collagen synthesis, and aid muscle recovery by stimulating cellular mitochondria and increasing ATP production.

The technology utilizes specific wavelengths to target different physiological needs. While standard devices often use red (630-670 nm) and near-infrared (810-1060 nm) light for skin firmness, collagen production, and deep tissue or joint relief, newer multi-wavelength panels offer a broader spectrum. This includes blue light (480 nm) for blemish clearing and yellow light (590 nm) for reducing redness and improving circulation.
