Exploitation and drug investigations in Nuremberg

Overview

Police investigations in Germany have focused on the exploitation of minors through drug distribution and sexual violence, particularly near the Nuremberg main station.

In August, the specialized task force ‘EKO Kajal’ arrested a 46-year-old suspect accused of sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl and offering her drugs. A 21-year-old was also detained following reports of a minor appearing to be under the influence of drugs. Authorities are investigating allegations that individuals use drugs to coerce young women into sexual acts.

By late July, the investigation had already identified twelve suspects in custody. This included the arrest of two Syrian men, aged 26 and 28, who were allegedly linked to supplying controlled drugs and prescription medication to underage girls. Prosecutors alleged the men raped the girls while they were under the influence of these substances. Searches related to these cases yielded prescription medicines, mobile phones, and cash.
