Fabio Roscioli center-right by-election endorsements

The center-right coalition candidate Fabio Roscioli has gained endorsements from various civic and local political groups ahead of the parliamentary by-elections for the Chamber of Deputies in the Reggio Calabria constituency.

On September 19, the civic group ‘Insieme si può’ announced its full support for Roscioli and Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro, citing a desire to maintain political continuity and community service. Following this, on September 21, four municipal councilors from Locri—representing Fratelli d’Italia and Forza Italia—endorsed Roscioli, emphasizing the necessity of parliamentary representation to communicate regional needs to national institutions.

As political activity intensifies, the center-right has officially launched Roscioli’s candidacy for the single-member constituency. Supporters, including Calabria President Roberto Occhiuto and regional coordinator Francesco Cannizzaro, argue that Roscioli possesses the parliamentary and governmental expertise required to represent the territory’s interests.

However, the candidacy has faced opposition from the metropolitan federation of the Democratic Party (PD), which criticized the move by claiming Roscioli is being presented as a substitute for Francesco Cannizzaro rather than a representative of the local territory.
