The judicial investigation into former deputy and union leader Facundo Moyano for alleged gender violence, minor injuries, and unlawful deprivation of liberty continues in Buenos Aires. The case follows an August 4 incident in the Belgrano neighborhood involving influencer Candela Arizaga. Moyano has denied the charges, claiming Arizaga suffered a cardiac arrest and a psychotic break, necessitating CPR. He maintains his innocence and asserts that video footage will support his version of events. In expanded testimony, Arizaga denied experiencing gender-based violence and requested that judicial restrictions, including the prohibition of contact and proximity, be lifted to allow her to reconnect with Moyano. While prosecutor Florencia Nocerez previously denied this request, stating it was “not prudent,” legal representatives for both Moyano and Arizaga have now formally petitioned for the lifting of the restraining order. Arizaga’s counsel argues that the circumstances justifying the precautionary measures have disappeared, noting her desire to restore their emotional bond. Arizaga’s legal team maintains there is no concrete risk to her safety. This follows a recent inquiry into whether Moyano violated the 300-meter restriction by meeting Arizaga at the Aira Apart Hotel Buenos Aires between August 31 and September 11. The Public Prosecutor's Office concluded that video surveillance from the establishment showed no evidence of Arizaga being present during Moyano's stay, meaning a violation of the order could not be confirmed through those records. In a recent television interview with Moria Casán, Moyano reiterated his innocence, denying claims that Arizaga had consumed cocaine or was detained by him. Casán noted that Moyano appeared to have a strong need for “catharsis” during the appearance, during which he brought religious gifts, including images of the Virgin of Luján and the Virgin of San Nicolás.
