Fapesp international research grant dispute

Academic centers at the University of São Paulo (USP), including the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics, Administration, Accounting and Actuarial Sciences (FEA-USP), initiated legal action against the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp). São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas stated that the administration intervened to ensure no cuts would occur, noting that the foundation possesses sufficient funds. The proposed changes had reportedly been leaked before being formally reviewed by the foundation’s superior council.
