Mathilde Favier, the international public relations director for Dior Couture, and film producer Nicolas Altmayer died following a head-on car accident in western France. The collision occurred on a Monday afternoon in the Deux-Sèvres department near Airvault while the couple was traveling toward Île de Ré. Their vehicle struck an oncoming heavy goods vehicle while attempting to overtake another car. Favier, aged 57, was a prominent figure in the fashion industry, having held roles at Prada and Chanel before joining Dior in 2011. Altmayer, aged 61, was a co-founder of Mandarin & Compagnie and known for producing the ‘OSS 117’ film series. Industry leaders, including Dior CEO Delphine Arnault and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, described Favier as an “exceptional professional and a loyal friend.” Actor Jean Dujardin also paid tribute to Altmayer, praising his professionalism and integrity. Favier’s children, Héloïse Agostinelli and Carlo Agostinelli, shared emotional tributes on social media. Héloïse, a model, shared family photos and private chat logs, while Carlo described Favier as a “super-heroine.” Funeral services were held in Paris on August 31. Favier was honored at the Saint-Sulpice church, attended by fashion industry figures, while and political figures including Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, and Brigitte Macron. While initial reports suggested the truck had crossed a continuous line, a 32-year-old driver from a Lithuanian transport company told an investigating judge that the Mini Cooper driven by Altmayer crossed the line and deviated from its lane.
