Fatal mistaken identity shooting in Paraná

Overview

On 19 June 2026, businessman Hugo Gabriel Moll was fatally shot in the head inside a barbershop in Ponta Grossa, Paraná. Police investigations concluded the attack was a case of mistaken identity, as the intended target—a man linked to drug trafficking—had exited the shop moments before Moll arrived. The shop owner also sustained a chest wound during the incident.

Following an investigation involving urban surveillance footage, a joint operation by the Polícia Civil and the Polícia Militar on 28 July 2026 resulted in the arrest of five suspects. The group included an organizer, a logistics provider, a driver, and two accomplices.
