On September 4, 2026, two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, died following a scooter accident in Quartu Sant’Elena. The incident occurred around 5:00 AM along the Poetto coastline near the Marinella roundabout when the driver of a Honda SH 125 reportedly lost control and struck a light pole.

One victim died instantly at the scene, while the second passed away in an ambulance during transport to the hospital.
