Fatal traffic accident involving Slovak citizen in Serbia

Overview

A Slovak citizen was killed in a multi-stage traffic accident on a highway near Belgrade, Serbia, on October 2. The incident began around 6:15 a.m. with a chain reaction collision involving three vehicles near the Banovci and Batajnica interchanges.

After the initial crash, the Slovak driver reportedly exited his vehicle unharmed to collect debris from the roadway, but was subsequently struck by a passing truck. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead by doctors at approximately 6:30 a.m. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, which also caused significant traffic disruptions in the area.
