Fatal traffic accidents in Punta Cana

Overview

A series of fatal traffic accidents has occurred in the Punta Cana tourist area of the Dominican Republic.

In mid-July, a collision on Theodore Kheel Avenue involving a white Kia resulted in the death of a female passenger and left the driver in critical condition.

In early August, another fatal incident took place on Barceló Avenue. A collision between a garbage compactor truck and a Kia bus caused the truck to overturn, killing the truck driver. Two occupants of the bus were injured in the crash. Local authorities and emergency services are investigating these incidents.
