Fatalities during Ganeshotsav festival in Mumbai

Overview

During the Ganeshotsav festival in Mumbai, multiple fatalities have been reported in the vicinity of major pandals.

On September 20, an electrical accident near the Mahaganpati Utsav Mandal in Kalachowki resulted in two deaths, including an eight-year-old girl, and four injuries. The incident was reportedly caused by a short circuit in temporary festival wiring.

On September 25, 68-year-old Vijay Aanekar died after falling unconscious near the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. This marks the second fatality at that specific site during the ongoing festival, following the death of 25-year-old engineer Jaideep Meghraj Nemade on September 17.
