FC Cincinnati MLS season performance

Overview

FC Cincinnati has secured key victories in their pursuit of a fifth consecutive MLS playoff appearance. In mid-October, the team ended a six-match winless streak with a 3-1 win over Atlanta United. After a scoreless first half, Togolese striker Kevin Denkey opened the scoring in the 52nd minute. Although Miguel Almirón tied the match for Atlanta in the 69th minute, Tom Barlow regained the lead for Cincinnati in the 84th minute. Denkey secured the win with a second goal in stoppage time, bringing his season total to 16 goals.

Following that performance, Cincinnati defeated DC United 2-1 at TQL Stadium. The club then secured a critical 2-0 away victory against D.C. United to complete a back-to-back series against the opponent. Goals from David Doudera and Teenage Hadebe provided the win in a match described by head coach Pat Noonan as a ‘gritty performance necessitated by limited time and space.’ This second victory moves the club closer to an MLS Cup postseason berth.
