Overview
In early July 2026, the mother of Brazilian police officer Gisele Santana publicly accused the officer’s husband of murder. The allegation centered on the officer’s family in Feira de Santana, Bahia.
By early August, investigators discovered the bodies of the officer’s wife, Taís dos Santos Pereira, and their three‑year‑old son inside their home. Police concluded the incident was a homicide followed by suicide, with the wife apparently killing the child before taking her own life. The case was handled by the 67th Independent Company of the Military Police and examined by the Civil Police’s Homicide Division.
