Fidelity Bank food security initiatives in Nigeria

Overview

Fidelity Bank Plc has expanded its Fidelity Food Bank Initiative through various relief efforts across Nigeria. In July 2026, the bank partnered with the Plateau State Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Office and the ABBASID Charity Foundation to provide food parcels, including rice, noodles, and tomatoes, to more than 1,000 internally displaced persons in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

By August 2026, the initiative continued its distribution in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where over 2,000 food packs were donated to residents at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cathedral. According to the bank’s Regional Bank Head for South West 1, Folaranmi Jemirin, the program has distributed more than 300,000 food packs across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones since its launch in 2023, aiming to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger.
