Finnish puppy live stream broadcast

Overview

Finland’s national broadcaster, Yle, is hosting ‘Pentulive’ (Puppy Live), a 24/7 live stream featuring a Lagotto Romagnolo dog named Hilkka and her litter of six puppies. The broadcast allows viewers to observe the puppies’ daily activities, such as feeding, resting, and interacting, while providing a platform for audience engagement through a dedicated chat with experts.

The stream has become a significant example of ‘slow TV,’ drawing massive engagement. While the webpage recorded 6.5 million views last year, social media channels attracted 20 million views. The puppies, comprising two females and four males, are expected to remain on camera until they find new homes in December. The broadcast serves as a distraction for residents as the country prepares for long, dark winters.
