FlashLabs OrcaRouter security and model updates

Overview

FlashLabs has introduced several security and performance updates to OrcaRouter, an AI inference gateway distributed exclusively in Japan.

Initial updates focused on data protection and model efficiency. The company implemented post-quantum cryptography using a hybrid ML-KEM-768 and X25519 configuration to protect request logs from future decryption threats. They also released the open-source implementation, “scuttle,” and introduced new AI models, including “Jev 1.13” for structured decision-making and “OrcaSAQ-2 27B,” a highly compressed model designed for local GPU environments.

Following these updates, FlashLabs launched ‘Data Cloak,’ a feature designed to protect personally identifiable information (PII). This tool replaces sensitive data with synthetic data before it reaches AI models and restores the original values upon response generation. During this period, the Orca AI Incident Archive reported a significant rise in security-related developments, noting a record high of 75 incidents in September 2026.
