A week later, the Florianópolis administration announced the start of a 35‑year concession for the CentroSul Convention Center, outlining a bidding process that requires a minimum upfront payment of R$16.5 million plus annual adjustments. The city framed the concession as a catalyst for national‑level events and tourism growth. Simultaneously, the municipal Operação Solo Legal programme continued its crackdown on illegal landfills and unauthorised constructions, having demolished 171 structures across eleven phases since its launch in September 2025.
