flydubai is implementing a multi-faceted expansion of its operations through new cargo services and fleet modernization.

In early September 2026, the airline announced the launch of dedicated freighter operations scheduled for October 1. This initiative involves a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir to integrate three Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft based at Dubai World Central. These freighters are intended to serve over 125 destinations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, supplementing existing belly-hold capacity.

Concurrently, the carrier is expanding its passenger fleet, with 11 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft expected in 2026. To enhance the passenger experience, flydubai is also initiating a 12-month cabin retrofit programme for 21 existing aircraft, which includes replacing Business Class seats with lie-flat options and installing larger overhead storage bins.
