FNC mixed martial arts event in Zagreb

The FNC mixed martial arts organization is preparing to host the FNC 33 event at Arena Zagreb. The event features several high-stakes championship bouts, most notably a heavyweight title fight between champion Hatef Moeil and challenger Darko Stošić. Stošić aims to reclaim dominance in the division, noting a previous technical knockout victory over Moeil in 2015.

Other scheduled matchups include a middleweight title defense by Đani Barbir against Piotr Strus, as well as a bout featuring Francis Barri against Fabian Silva. Barri was set to face Rony Jason before the latter was removed from the matchup. The event also includes appearances by fighters such as Ivan Erslan, Miran Fabjan, and Tiriel Luka Abramović.

In a collaborative effort, the event is partnered with the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence through the ‘Freedom 250’ campaign. U.S. Ambassador Nicole McGraw stated that the partnership emphasizes the connection between the United States and Croatia via the “unifying power of sport.”
