Irish post-punk band Fontaines D. C. has announced their fifth studio album, ‘Dopamine Chamber’, scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, through XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, the eleven-track project follows their 2024 platinum-certified album, ‘Romance’. Musically, the new album marks a shift toward a “colder, more synthetic aesthetic” featuring synthesizer tones, samples, and marching drums. Lead singer Grian Chatten described the record as an exploration of emotional release amidst technological dominance, political tension, and environmental decline. The tracklist includes the single ‘Marianne’ and a collaboration with Spanish artist Rosalía on ‘Where Is Gone?’. In support of the release, the band is embarking on a 20-date arena tour across Europe and the United Kingdom, beginning in Lisbon on October 21, 2026. They have also expanded their 2027 schedule to include summer dates in Italy and two headline performances at Slane Castle, Ireland. Additionally, the band has announced a 19-concert North American tour for 2027. The first leg runs from April to May through cities such as Boston, Philadelphia, and San Francisco with support from Westside Cowboy, while a second leg begins in late September in Columbus and concludes at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on October 15, supported by Iceage. Ahead of the album release, the band performed a 19-song set at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The outdoor concert featured material from ‘Romance’ and ‘Skinty Fia’, as well as new tracks including ‘Marianne’ and previews of unreleased songs ‘Tongue’ and ‘Happy For You’. During the performance, the group dedicated the song ‘It’s Amazing to Be Young’ to Hollywood Forever resident David Lynch. Additionally, the band has scheduled a performance at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City for March 25, following a previous cancellation due to health issues experienced by vocalist Grian Chatten.
