Ford 2027 Le Mans Hypercar development

Overview

Ford is advancing its Hypercar program in preparation for a 2027 debut in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Following several months of track development and testing at locations including Paul Ricard, Portimão, and Silverstone, the company recently deployed two prototype vehicles simultaneously at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza to accelerate data collection.

The prototypes are equipped with a 5.4-liter Coyote V8 engine. Drivers participating in recent testing sessions include Nick Yelloly, Sébastien Priaulx, Mike Rockenfeller, and Logan Sargeant, with Matt Campbell confirmed as one of the six primary drivers for the 2027 factory squad.

Ford has announced it will officially unveil the final design of the new Hypercar in mid-November, moving past the camouflaged prototypes used during the testing phases.
