Forza Italia expands regional ~~leadership and local~~ presence amid internal Marche

Throughout July and August 2026, Forza Italia continued its regional organizational expansion and policy rollout across Italy. In early July, the party held a regional congress in Genoa, electing Carlo Bagnasco as regional secretary, Angelo Vaccarezza as vice‑secretary and future council group leader, and Marco Scajola to manage the party’s delegation in the regional cabinet. The event also appointed Christopher Casati as provincial commissioner for La Spezia. Concurrently, the Gioventù Nazionale provincial congress in Piacenza elected Lorenzo Lagori as president, emphasizing the youth wing’s role as a training ground for future leaders and its coordination with Fratelli d’Italia. In Lombardy, the inaugural regional congress on 2 July established Alessandro Sorte as regional secretary and added former Pioltello councilor Maria Rita Versace to the Regional Secretariat. Later in the month, the party celebrated the first anniversary of its Fiano Romano branch, where coordinator Vanessa Paniccia introduced a new municipal leadership team. On 27 July, regional coordinator Pietro Vignali and deputy Rosaria Tassinari unveiled a new leadership team in Emilia‑Romagna, including Davide Ganapini for Reggio Emilia. Supported by national figures like Antonio Tajani, the regional programme focuses on health-system improvements, local security, industrial tax competitiveness, and opposing a ban on Euro 5 diesel vehicles. By mid-August, the party intensified local efforts. In Irpinia, provincial leadership under Angelo Antonio D’Agostino focused on internal unity and increasing parliamentary presence. In Marche, the party launched an anti-bureaucracy campaign to support citizens and businesses, while also announcing the membership of San Lorenzo in Campo Mayor Davide Dellonti to strengthen ties with local administrations. However, internal friction emerged in the Marche region. Former members and suspended officials, led by figures such as Stefano Aguzzi and Giovanni Dallasta, launched a protest against the regional leadership.
