Forza Italia expands regional presence amid internal Marche

Overview

Throughout July and August 2026, Forza Italia continued its regional organizational expansion and policy rollout across Italy. In early July, the party held a regional congress in Genoa, electing Carlo Bagnasco as regional secretary, Angelo Vaccarezza as vice‑secretary and future council group leader, and Marco Scajola to manage the party’s delegation in the regional cabinet. By mid-August, the party intensified local efforts. In Irpinia, provincial leadership under Angelo Antonio D’Agostino focused on internal unity and increasing parliamentary presence. In Marche, the party launched an anti-bureaucracy campaign to support citizens and businesses, while also announcing the membership of San Lorenzo in Campo Mayor Davide Dellonti to strengthen ties with local administrations. However, internal friction emerged in the Marche region. Former members and suspended officials, led by figures such as Stefano Aguzzi and Giovanni Dallasta, launched a protest against the regional leadership.
