The FOSIS agency continues implementing entrepreneurship and training programs across various Chilean regions to support vulnerable populations and foster economic independence. In the Maule region, specifically in Longaví, rural women entrepreneurs received equipment, training, and a processing room through the ‘Emprendamos Grupal Autogestionado’ program. For 2026, FOSIS expanded its reach in the Ñuble region, targeting 1,650 individuals across 21 communes with an investment of approximately 1.7 billion Chilean pesos. Additionally, over 81 million Chilean pesos have been allocated to support 158 participants in the communes of Mariquina and Máfil, providing direct funding between 480,000 and 600,000 CLP. Recent updates confirm that FOSIS is maintaining these initiatives in Mariquina, Máfil, and Puerto Natales. These programs offer direct financing, technical training, and specialized advice to strengthen existing businesses and support new ventures. Complementing these efforts, Sercotec has launched a 2.5 billion peso fund to assist unemployed individuals in transitioning to entrepreneurship. During its 2025-2026 Participatory Public Account, FOSIS reported that over 57,000 people participated in entrepreneurship programs in 2025, while 91,000 individuals accessed state-subsidized microcredits. Looking ahead to 2026, the agency plans to increase slots for the ‘Emprendamos’ program, strengthen the ‘Chile Trabaja’ employability initiative, and introduce the ‘Emprendamos Emergencia’ line to assist entrepreneurs affected by weather events. Furthermore, the agency is pursuing social innovation through ‘Innova FOSIS’ and food recovery via ‘EcoMercados Solidarios’.
