Francesca Michielin musical project release

Overview

Italian singer-songwriter Francesca Michielin has begun a new musical project centered on historical themes, folklore, and femininity. She initially released the single ‘La mia ragazza’, which was inspired by the historical figure Katherina Hetzeldorfer and the history of witch hunts. This work was part of a concept album titled ‘Magia Bianca’, developed through historical research and visits to sites in Italy associated with past persecutions.

Following this, Michielin announced an expanded project titled ‘Magia Bianca, Magia Nera’, scheduled for release on October 30, 2026. This new album will include six additional tracks to create a conceptual narrative inspired by the cycle of the Sabbats, incorporating esoteric and medieval imagery. The musical direction is expected to shift from 1980s synth-pop toward gothic, rock, and dance elements. To support the release, the artist also announced an upcoming tour through major Italian theaters.
