Frank Zappa anniversary album releases

Overview

Zappa Records and Universal Music (UMe) are releasing anniversary Super Deluxe Editions for various Frank Zappa albums.

In September 2026, it was announced that the 60th anniversary edition of the 1966 debut album ‘Freak Out!’ by Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention would be released. This collection features a 5CD/1Blu-ray set containing 105 tracks, including unreleased demos, rehearsals, and live recordings from the Fillmore Auditorium. The release includes a remastered mono mix and a newly unearthed “pre-master” stereo mix.

Following this, a 50th anniversary Super Deluxe Edition of the album ‘Zoot Allures’ was scheduled for release on December 4. This six-disc collection includes 61 tracks, featuring the original remastered album, the ‘Night of the Iron Sausage’ double-LP version, and a previously unreleased 1976 concert from Paris, alongside various studio outtakes and alternate mixes.
