In late August, cybercriminals utilized fake websites, such as ‘TrouveClasse.com’, to scam students and parents by falsely claiming to reveal school class assignments. These sites used official imagery to collect personal data for identity theft or to distribute malware designed to capture banking details.

By mid-September, the focus of fraudulent activity shifted toward the housing market. Scammers have been exploiting the high demand for student accommodation by posting deceptive rental listings. Perpetrators often pose as landlords to solicit sensitive identity documents or demand upfront payments for deposits and rent via untraceable methods before any physical viewings have taken place.
