Terry’s sister, Terina Roberts, expressed a loss of trust in the justice system. While relatives questioned why the Crown did not stay the charges to allow for potential future prosecution, the BC Prosecution Service announced in August 2026 that it will not appeal the acquittal. The service stated that the appeal process is “onerous” and determined that an appeal was not viable after a careful review.
