Frosinone Calcio transitioned from pre-season preparations to the start of the Serie A campaign. In late July and early August, the club engaged in pre-season activities, including a 2-2 draw against Benevento and a sold-out friendly match against Lazio.

Following their promotion, Frosinone began the Serie A season under manager Massimiliano Alvini. After an initial 0-1 loss to Juventus, the club prepared to face Fiorentina on August 29, 2026, seeking its first points of the season.

The upcoming fixture at the Franchi stadium coincides with ACF Fiorentina’s centennial anniversary celebrations. To mark the occasion, Florence will illuminate landmarks such as the Loggiato degli Innocenti and the Stadio Artemio Franchi in purple on August 28 and 29. Additionally, local media is releasing a special edition dedicated to the club’s history, and the municipality of Scandicci has organized cultural and sporting events through November.

As these celebrations proceed, Fiorentina is also managing a high-profile player dispute involving striker Moise Kean. Kean has reportedly refused to participate in training and arrived late to sessions in an attempt to force a transfer to Como, which has submitted a bid potentially reaching €42 million including bonuses. In response, the club has fined Kean. Sporting director Fabio Paratici has maintained that any sale requires a suitable financial offer and the acquisition of an equivalent replacement, with the club exploring options such as Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee. This tension follows a heavy defeat to AS Roma as the team prepares for its match against Frosinone.
