The Fruit Attraction 2026 horticultural trade fair in Madrid is approaching its scheduled dates of October 6 to 8. Early reports indicate the event is nearing full occupancy, with nearly 100 percent of the 162,000 square meters of exhibition space filled. Industry focus has shifted toward the importance of logistics and supply chains to ensure product quality and international market access. The event is expected to host over 2,500 exhibitors and more than 121,000 professionals from 150 countries. Key components of the fair include specialized forums such as the International Potato Symposium and the Biofruit Congress, as well as the Innovation Hub Awards. Additionally, through the Import Promotion Desk, 24 suppliers from various African and South American nations—including Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru—will participate to connect with European buyers. As the fair approaches, the Spanish horticultural sector is intensifying its preparations. Intertropic, the Interprofessional Organization of Mango and Avocado of Spain, has launched a 9.2 million euro campaign titled ‘Frutas con corazón’ to promote European-grown mangoes in Spain, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. Key exhibitors at IFEMA Madrid include the berry cooperative Cuna de Platero, which seeks to strengthen its global position in strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry supply. Furthermore, the brand UNIQ will present corrugated cardboard packaging solutions intended to optimize protection, logistics, and circularity in fruit and vegetable distribution.
