Galatasaray men’s basketball sponsorship developments

Overview

The Galatasaray MCT Technic Men’s Basketball Team has secured multiple sponsorship agreements to support its development and competitive goals.

In early September 2026, the club signed a deal with the international maritime company Oceanist, which will sponsor the team’s jerseys and shorts. Following this, the club formalized a partnership with dietary supplement brand Zade Vital for the 2026-2027 season, also covering jersey and shorts branding. During the signing ceremony at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park, Board Member Mecit Mert Çetinkaya emphasized that increasing the budget through sponsors is essential for recruiting players to meet competitive goals, such as winning the Turkish Cup and reaching the Basketball Champions League Final Four.

On September 29, 2026, the club announced a third sponsorship agreement with 1905 GSYİAD, which will cover the jersey back branding. Vice President Mehmet Cibara noted that despite difficult economic conditions, the club continues to secure sponsorships and expects further agreements in the coming weeks.

In related roster developments, Cibara addressed the situation regarding Sydney Taylor. Although a contract was signed, Taylor reportedly decided at the last minute not to move to Turkey, citing better opportunities in the United States following her WNBA performance. Negotiations regarding a buy-out are ongoing, with Cibara stating that daily penalties stipulated in the contract will apply if she is not with the team by October 1.
