Garden Reach Shipbuilders technological and production scale

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has expanded its technological capabilities and production activities through new international partnerships and domestic vessel construction.

At the SMM Hamburg Maritime Trade Fair, GRSE established two strategic agreements. A Memorandum of Understanding with Norway’s DNV focuses on integrating digital shipbuilding, artificial intelligence, and green technologies into the construction of warships and specialized vessels. Additionally, a partnership with the Netherlands-based Damen Technical Cooperation B.V. aims to develop indigenous dredging capabilities through technical know-how transfer.

Following these developments, GRSE commenced construction on two 64-metre Coastal Research Vessels (CRVs) for the Geological Survey of India (GSI). These vessels are designed for offshore geological mapping, mineral exploration, and ocean environment monitoring within India’s Exclusive Economic Zone. The ships will feature modern scientific laboratories and diesel-electric propulsion systems to support operations at depths between 5 and 1,000 metres.
