Gaza humanitarian aid and supply disputes

Overview

Disputes have emerged regarding the volume and management of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip. Israel has challenged the existing ceasefire agreement, which stipulates the entry of 600 trucks daily, suggesting that 250 trucks per day are sufficient. Israeli officials warned that aid levels might be reduced if Hamas continues practices that allegedly obstruct the flow of goods, including claims that Hamas imposes forced levies of 10,000 shekels on merchants per truck. Gaza officials denied these allegations, stating the funds are part of a “voluntary community initiative” to support orphans and widows, and accused Israel of using these claims to evade ceasefire obligations.

In response to shortages, the Egyptian Red Crescent has continued large-scale aid deliveries. A recent convoy dispatched over 280 trucks carrying more than 3,676 tons of flour, medicine, and fuel to address severe bread shortages. This marks the 302nd convoy sent from Egypt since July 2025. Amidst these logistical challenges, Gaza health authorities reported ongoing casualties, noting that since the October 2025 ceasefire took effect, the death toll has reached 1,551.
