GCC industrial integration and investment initiatives

Overview

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has initiated efforts to enhance regional industrial integration and economic diversification. In late September 2026, preparations were underway for the ‘Made in GCC Forum & Exhibition 2026’ in Bahrain, an event designed to connect the public sector, investors, and technology companies to focus on supply chain resilience and green manufacturing.

By early October 2026, during the inaugural forum, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi announced the launch of five joint industrial investment opportunities, marking the first phase of a broader plan to deliver 20 such opportunities across the region. To further streamline regional trade, the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development proposed the creation of a ‘Gulf Industrial Passport.’ This digital initiative would consolidate manufacturer details, country of origin, and certifications into a single file to facilitate smoother integration.
