The R@Port Festival and associated ceremonies in Gdynia highlighted several achievements in Polish theater and dramaturgy.

In the 13th Andrzej Żurkowski Competition for Young Theater Critics, Mateusz Kaliński and Magdalena Ożarowska were named winners. Kaliński received the President of Gdynia Award for reviews noted for their expansive essay-style approach. The competition saw 48 entries from 16 reviewers, with prize amounts increasing to 7,000 PLN.

Separately, Malina Prześluga won the 19th Gdynia Dramaturgical Award for her play ‘Ślepa plamka’ (Blind Spot), which the jury praised for its depiction of political and social realities. Under a new format, all five finalists received 10,000 PLN. Piotr Domalewski was granted a Special Award from the Municipal Theatre in Gdynia for his drama ‘Zamknij oczy Nel’, providing an opportunity for future staging.

During the proceedings, eight cultural institutions, including the Municipal Theatre in Gdynia and the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, signed a letter of intent to form the Coalition of Theatres for Polish Dramaturgy to support contemporary Polish drama.
