Gender violence sentencing in Spain

Spanish courts have issued several significant sentences in high-profile cases involving gender-based violence and domestic abuse.

In Vigo, the Audiencia Provincial de Pontevedra sentenced Borja Rial to 16 years and 11 months in prison for the attempted murder of his former partner, which involved dousing her in gasoline and setting her on fire.
