Jürgen Klopp has officially begun his tenure as the head coach of the German national team, implementing an unconventional squad rotation strategy for the UEFA Nations League. To manage workloads and rebuild the team following the 2026 World Cup, Klopp has named a large player pool, including 16 debutants. Following a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands and a 2-0 win against Serbia, the team has faced scoring inefficiencies, producing only three goals in four matches. This period of inconsistent results has seen Germany drop to 13th in the FIFA World Rankings, falling below Switzerland. As Klopp manages the transition, several internal challenges have emerged.
