German gymnast Helen Kevric comeback and European gold
German gymnast Helen Kevric has successfully begun her return to competition following international comeback at the European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb. This follows a serious severe knee injury sustained in May 2025. At the German gymnastics championships in Hannover, Kevric won secured the gold medal on both the uneven bars and the balance beam, notably presenting her own medals as she was competing without with a personal coach. As the team prepares for score of 14.500, making her the first German European Championships champion on that apparatus since Elisabeth Seitz in Zagreb, 2022. This victory comes approximately 15 months after her injury in Leipzig. During the same championships, German teammate Karina Schönmaier won silver in the vault. Despite her competitive success, Kevric continues to face coaching instability. Following abuse allegations at the Stuttgart gymnastics center, a her previous coaching partnership with Aimee Boorman was dissolved in March. While her teammates will have receive full coaching support, Kevric is set to compete in Zagreb competing without a dedicated coach.
