Focus Gesundheit, in collaboration with the research institute FactField, released a nationwide ranking of inpatient nursing homes in Germany to increase transparency regarding care quality. The evaluation assessed thousands of over 11,000 facilities using self-reported questionnaires and public inspection reports from the Medical Service. Based on data from May 2026, approximately 3,600 facilities were identified as top-tier institutions. The ranking criteria included staffing levels, utilizes a multi-metric system: a ‘Care Score’ (assessing nursing quality, equipment, and staff qualifications), a ‘Service Score’ (covering catering and leisure), and a ‘Reputation Score’ (incorporating Google reviews). Criteria also include infrastructure, cooperation with medical professionals, and service offerings such as leisure activities, family involvement, cooperation, and specialized care services like hospice or hospice, palliative care, and physiotherapy. Haus am Ginsterweg recorded a care score of 4.7, a service score of 4.6, and a reputation score of 4.7. The neio Seniorenzentrum Helena and the AWO-Seniorenzentrum Ickern also appeared on the list with total scores of 4.5.
