Launched in Berlin by the textile and fashion industry association, textil+mode, and the Handelsverband Deutschland (HDE), the alliance is working to influence the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations. This pending legislative framework would require companies placing textiles on the German market to pay fees for the eventual disposal of those products. The alliance seeks to ensure the transition is ‘unbureaucratic,’ with industry leaders calling for a ‘level playing field’ that includes international platforms.
