Recent reports indicate multiple fatalities involving German tourists at beaches in Southern Europe. This incident contributed to a reported total of 23 beach-related fatalities along the Catalan coast during the summer. In early September, two German tourists, aged 53 and 80, drowned at separate beaches in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of the Basque Country.
