The apprenticeship drive that began in July continued through August and into September 2026. Municipal administrations in Göttingen, Rüsselsheim, Meppen, Frankenthal, and Sylt, alongside firms like Stadtwerke Jena and Ratiodata, established sizable cohorts. In the banking sector, Volksbank Köln-Bonn, Volksbank Oberberg, and VR RegionalBank launched new training cycles to secure qualified talent and address the regional ‘Abi-Lücke’. As the vocational year progressed, several large-scale intakes were reported. Wuppertaler Stadtwerke (WSW) welcomed 47 apprentices across 15 professions, and the L. I. T. Gruppe started with 41 recruits in Brake. The Glöckle Group in Schweinfurt also added 16 new staff members, while Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte began training for 17 apprentices and two dual students. In Jena, 35 trainees started across 18 disciplines, including emergency services and forestry. Public administration offices in Pfaffenhofen, Attendorn, Ravensburg, Traunstein, and the Regierungspräsidium in Darmstadt also welcomed new candidates and volunteers. By mid-September, local government administrations continued welcoming new cohorts. In Leutkirch, Mayor Hans-Jörg Henle welcomed six apprentices specializing in administrative services, tourism, and leisure, alongside students in Public Management. In Schweinfurt, District Administrator Florian Töpper welcomed nine trainees and students to the Landratsamt Schweinfurt, focusing on areas such as financial administration, public safety, and environmental law. In the private sector, the R+S Group implemented a phased intake of 47 apprentices and dual students across locations including Fulda and Leipzig. Other companies also commenced training, including TQ-Group with 18 new apprentices, Sparkasse Ingolstadt Eichstätt with 29 newcomers, Uzin Utz, Überlandwerk Rhön, and Radlmaier. Additionally, Hettich welcomed 56 trainees and students, including 48 individuals in Ostwestfalen and eight in Frankenberg, utilizing orientation activities such as a four-day sailing trip to foster integration.
