The Solingen‑Ohligs shooting on 29 July 2024 was classified as an attempted homicide. A 38‑year‑old man was seriously injured inside a shop, and bullet holes were later found in the façade of a nearby bar. Police say a male suspect fled on foot toward Forststraße while a silver compact car left the area; authorities have stressed there is no ongoing danger and continue to seek witnesses. In early August 2024, a masked shooter stepped in front of a moving car near a Lidl supermarket in Eningen ~~under~~ unter Achalm, wounding a 39‑year‑old driver with a glass fragment. The attacker, described as 1.75‑1.80 m tall and wearing a gray tracksuit, hood and mask, escaped on a footpath. Police deployed patrol cars, K‑9 units and a helicopter, and ~~have~~ again indicated no immediate public threat. A second attack at the same Lidl site occurred on 5 August 2026. A masked man in a gray jogging suit jumped in front of a Mercedes ~~V‑Class,~~ V‑Klass, injuring the driver with a fragment of the vehicle’s bodywork while three passengers escaped unharmed.
