Ghana flood disaster impact

Overview

Following devastating floods in Ghana on June 29, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak reported that the disaster resulted in 39 deaths and affected 91,989 people across 77 districts in seven regions.

The Greater Accra Region experienced the highest impact, with 17 deaths and 56,022 people affected. The Central Region recorded eight deaths, and the Volta Region reported four fatalities. Other affected areas included the Ashanti, Western, Western North, and Eastern regions.

As of late August, a four-month-old infant remains the only person officially reported missing from the disaster.
