Ghanaian dancehall artist rivalry reconciliation

Overview

The long-standing rivalry between Ghanaian dancehall artists Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has seen recent shifts toward reconciliation. In September 2026, Shatta Wale addressed industry tensions following remarks from Stonebwoy regarding a London concert appearance by Shatta Wale and Sarkodie at a Kweku Smoke event. During this period, Shatta Wale emphasized the importance of professional maturity and unity within the Ghanaian music scene.

By October 2026, the movement toward peace continued during the ShattaFest concert in Ho. Shatta Wale publicly declared his support for Stonebwoy, stating that he has no interest in fighting and that the media cannot turn him against his colleague. In a symbolic gesture, Shatta Wale performed along to Stonebwoy’s 2020 track ‘Putuu Freestyle (Pray),’ marking a significant moment in their years-long competitive relationship.
