Following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ghanaian footballers have begun transitioning to clubs in Saudi Arabia. Midfielder Kwasi Sibo, a free agent after his contract with Real Oviedo expired, indicated he was evaluating offers from England, Germany, and the Saudi Pro League, noting that his family favored a move to Saudi Arabia. Other Ghanaian players have already finalized moves to the region. Striker Albert Amoah, a 24-year-old centre-forward, completed a permanent transfer to the Saudi First Division League club Hajer FC on August 14, 2026. Amoah joined Hajer FC following a period with the Libyan side Al-Ahly, which included a loan spell back to Asante Kotoko earlier in 2026. Before his time in North Africa, he established himself in the ~~Saudi First Division League, while~~ Ghana Premier League with Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko. Additionally, centre-back Kofi Agbesimah transferred to Al-Etisalat SC.
