Overview

On October 7, an attempted robbery occurred at Gisac Jewelry in the Villa Juana sector of Santo Domingo. Masked individuals in a black SUV without license plates attacked the establishment, shooting security guard Carlos Miguel Martínez Calderón in the chest. Following the incident, two of the suspects, Ángel David de Jesús and César Edwar Tejeda Carela, surrendered to authorities. They identified an individual named Sandel as the alleged mastermind, claiming he traveled from Italy to the Dominican Republic to orchestrate the heist.
